A driver needs off a load? Swap it without breaking the day
Dispatchers and upThe message every dispatcher knows: “any chance someone can take my afternoon run?” Instead of squinting at the board, ask Operator91 — it knows every driver's day, which runs are short, and who has room for the long one.
A driver's message lands in Driver Hub, the dispatcher asks Operator91 who could fit the longer load, and the suggested swap goes onto the Planner — two loads, two drivers, timing recomputed honestly.
The steps
- The driver messages from the tablet — it lands in Driver Hub → Messages with an unread badge. Open the thread and read the ask.
- Open Ask Operator91 and put the problem in plain words — “Abrams needs off his 1:30 run — who could fit the longer load?”
- It answers from the real board: which driver's run is the short one, whose day has room for the long one, and what each driver's finish time becomes after the swap.
- Follow its button to the Planner, open each load, and hand it to the other driver. The board's timing recomputes as you save — conflicts and windows are flagged immediately, so a bad swap shows itself before it happens.
- Reply to the driver in the same thread — request handled, day intact, and the whole exchange is on the record.
Gotchas
Good to know: The assistant is advisory — it suggests, a person applies. Nothing on the board changes until the dispatcher saves it.
Good to know: Answers are scoped to your seat — a dispatcher's Operator sees the board and the hours, never the money.
